Can counselling help me?

The type of problems that counselling can help with include bereavement, anxiety, divorce, stress, fear, separation, trauma, abuse, depression, eating disorders and self-harm. It is suitable for anyone whatever his or her background, age or gender.

What is counselling?

Many people seeking counselling have life experiences that prevent them from moving forward. The counsellor’s aim is to be supportive and provide you with an opportunity and safe environment for you to talk to someone who is trained and experienced in listening and responding. It is a special time, away from your normal life, that enables you to explore the issues that are troubling you.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your need and the issues that you have.

How long is a session?

Usually 50 minutes.

Is my problem serious enough to bring to counselling?

No problem is too large or too small. A counsellor will not make any judgements about you or your feelings.
